A little about our horse rescue mission.
My husband and I moved to sunny Florida 10 years ago from New York City. Since we have been in Florida we have been searching for neglected horses and ponies that need a second chance in their life. Sometimes these horses are washed up race horses needing a new career or sometimes they are horses / ponies that are being neglected by ignorance. In the past we have even found horses at "meat" auctions where horses are sold for slaughter. We bring these projects home to our private farm in Beverly Hills and work on retraining them so they will better fit into a good family life. The process begins with a complete medical evaluation, a good shoeing program, a check from the dentist and placement on a routine worming and inoculation program..
After all that is completed, we start the new horse or pony in their new training program. They are first personally trained by myself until they are determined safe and reliable enough to be ridden by others. At this time we start to expose the horses to some local lesson students from the neighborhood and have my 4H children come by to love and work around them. We also take our projects out to local horse shows, some have even proven talented enough to go on and show on a national level. It is our goal at Showtime Stables to create safe reliable horses or ponies that can be owned and shown and be enjoyed by loving families. Since 1993 we have saved twenty horses / ponies. Please check out our rescue photo gallery to see some of our success stories. Always love and care for your horse and give him a carrot for me.
Sincerely,
